Nsf REU Chemistry is Here!

Nsf REU Chemistry is Here!A substantial portion of chemistry in the future will be Nsf REU Chemistry. This is a new field of chemistry that will take the place of traditional and synthetic chemistry. These days synthetic chemistry has grown into its own science, where once it was just a name for a part of a few synthetic chemical processes. With Nsf REU Chemistry, there will be a whole field of chemistry that you will never be able to enjoy again. It is interesting to look at the distinction between synthetic chemistry and Nsf REU Chemistry. Synthetic chemistry is a part of the chemistry that is made from and that is not made from natural chemicals. That is why many scientists now don't have a lot of respect for synthetic chemistry. However, as I mentioned above, this would be replaced by Nsf REU Chemistry. It is actually synthetic chemistry that is being studied. With synthetic chemistry, scientists will only be making compounds using natural chemicals. The thing that makes this exciti ng is that, unlike classical organic chemistry, it will not follow the same chemical rule as that of the traditional chemistry. Since it will be derived from natural chemistry, the rules that are followed will be more in line with what is natural to chemistry. I am not a chemist, but I'm quite certain that you can find a lot of cool ideas from those who are.For practical applications, one can expect to find this science and chemistry to replace other branches of chemistry. Most people know that in modern times chemistry has grown to be a very big field. It has become a great field because of the need for new materials, new products, and for new technologies. It is also a field of study because it is being used for all sorts of things. You can expect to see a lot of things coming out of this field of study. Things like materials for cars, materials for airplane parts, materials for gas-station products, things that are used in manufacturing steel, plastics, and anything else that can be found on the market or in nature. As you can see, this is an exciting field of study where not only can it replace synthetic chemistry, but where it will soon replace the entire field of traditional chemistry. If you haven't taken a look yet, you should get going right away and start learning about this field of study.

5 Steps to Revitalize a Struggling GMAT Prep Routine

5 Steps to Revitalize a Struggling GMAT Prep Routine Studying for the GMAT can be difficult, but it does not have to be impossible! If you have been struggling to stick to your study plan, dont worry. Here are five steps to help you revitalize your GMAT prep routine: 1. Take a practice test Did you complete a diagnostic exam when you first started reviewing for the GMAT? Consider sitting for a new GMAT practice test now. Determine your comfort with the exam material, as well as what you must focus on next. Familiarize yourself with the length of the test (including its breaks) and with the different types of questions in each section. Taking the GMAT requires endurance and academic skill. If possible, complete an official computer-based exam via GMAC. This will provide you with the most accurate simulation of the test day experience. 2. Determine your current strengths and weaknesses You may have started your prep routine as a Quantitative expert, but perhaps Data Sufficiency has begun to give you pause. Conversely, you may have believed that Verbal questions were your forte, but now you fight your way through Critical Reasoning problems. Again, examine where you are today. Begin with your strengths. Use them as a confidence booster a reminder that you have the skills necessary for a strong GMAT score. Then move on to your weaknesses. Decide whether you can improve them on your own, or if you need a GMAT tutor or study partner. Do not be afraid to ask for help! 3. Schedule your GMAT exam This is a key component of your prep routine. Dates fill quickly, so plan well in advance. Gauge how long you will need to review, and determine the latest date you can submit your GMAT score(s) to business schools. Pick both an early date and a later date in case you must sit for the test again. Often, having a specific exam date (or two) can revitalize a flagging study plan in and of itselfespecially if you overestimated your prep time! Here are some tips on how to improve your GMAT score. 4. Commit your plan to paper Construct a concrete study schedule and adhere to it. Your GMAT prep routine should include official materials from GMAC, which will ensure that you are reviewing with questions from previous GMAT exams. Additionally, to help you stay true to your commitment, tell your family and friends about your plan. Letting other people know how important this test is to you will reinforce the place that studying must have in your life. Here are a few daily activities that can improve your GMAT skills! 5. Remember your goal In most cases, the GMAT is the first step toward admission to business school. Sometimes that dream can seem too large to fathom. However, you can make your goal feel more tangible in a number of ways. Contact the admissions offices of the schools to which you are applying. Schedule a campus tour at each institution. Speak with students who have gone through the application process and who are currently taking classes at the schools you would like to attend. Find MBA alumni in your area from those programs, and ask them about their experiences. Communicating with real people who have lived through the business school admissions processincluding the GMATwill make this grand feat seem a bit more manageable. These are 3 GMAT strategies you learned while in college. By utilizing these five steps, you can revitalize your struggling GMAT prep routine. You may have been discouraged by the process before, but today is a new day. Take one step at a time. Soon enough, you will be on your way to achieving the success you desireboth on the exam and throughout the MBA process as a whole.

Then vs than Analisando I would rather cuddle then have sex

Na imagem a gente lê:  I would rather cuddle then have sex. If youre good with grammar youll get it.  Há muita coisa para falar sobre a mensagem, por isso vamos por partes.1. A tradução  da frase I would rather cuddle then have sex  Ã© Eu preferiria aninhar depois fazer sexo. I bought rice, then I came home to make dinner. Eu comprei arroz, depois vim para casa fazer o jantar. She was powerful  then. Ela era poderosa naquela época. If they are arriving late, then we should postpone the meeting. Se eles vão chegar tarde, então nós devíamos adiar a reunião.Than tem sentido comparativo. Por isso, deve ser usado apenas quando o intuito é fazer uma comparação.I love you more than you love me. Eu amo você mais do que você me ama.2. Na frase,  then  aparece com  rather, uma palavra muito usada em construções comparativas, mas cujo uso não se restringe apenas às comparações. Veja os exemplos:I would rather eat strawberries  then  pineapple.  Eu preferiria comer morangos  depois  abacaxi.Aqui, o sentido na frase é temporal, por causa do uso do  then.I would rather eat strawberries  than  pineapple. Conforme eu for encontrando coisas interessantes, eu mostro para vocês.

5 Ways ESL Students Can Improve Their Everyday English

5 Ways ESL Students Can Improve Their Everyday English Tips from an Irvine ESL Tutor: 5 Ways ESL Students Can Improve Their Everyday English Tips from an Irvine ESL Tutor: 5 Ways ESL Students Can Improve Their Everyday English ESL students have a long journey in front of them. Any student learning a second language as an older child or adult will be using their brain at a more intensive level and putting their memory and comprehension skills to the test. Additionally, students who are, or will be, taking classes in English will also have to learn about English language jargon and be able to read information buried within an academic text. Once ESL students can master their speaking and listening skills, they are more likely to be able to move on to the next level of fluency. Learning a second language can become tedious early on, but there are a few ways students can work through this repetition to reach their goals. 1. Pick an everyday topic or situation Most ESL students will be working with a classroom teacher or private Irvine ESL tutor. They should sign up for a speaking or situational class where they can learn about how to deal with everyday topics. Additionally, students can have a speaking companion to help them refine situations specific to their needs and lifestyle. For instance, one session may cover how to order at the students favorite cafe and the next might include how to make a friend at the local gym. Being able to chat about day to day topics makes life easier and more social. 2. Word of the day English language students are also encouraged to pick a word of the day. They can choose from possible words that help them communicate with their peers, unique terms that will help them broaden their vocabulary or a word list selected by their tutor. Some ESL students will try to memorize 10 or more words every day but often become overwhelmed and end up forgetting all of them. However, learning just one single word per day is usually pretty easy to do. Students should practice using these words as part of their session or with their speaking companion to practice appropriate grammar and verb conjugation (READ: ESL Study Tips for Taking the SAT). 3. Get a beach read Academic text can become dry and overwhelming very quickly. However, easy to read novels and magazines AKA ‘beach reads’ can be fun and informative on a practical level. Students who read a 200-word magazine article on a topic they enjoy or work through a chapter book with simple dialogue will be able to work on reading comprehension at a reasonable level until they become comfortable with more complicated passages. 4. Watch episodes of a comedy or drama with limited dialogue Watching TV in a second language can also be a fun way to reinforce listening skills. Although sentences will be simplified and repeated when necessary during a tutoring session or in a classroom, ESL students will need to become comfortable with faster interactive dialogue before they can converse easily with native English speakers. Most situational comedies and some dramas will provide limited yet practical dialogue that can allow the student to comprehend a fair portion of the material in a visual format (READ: Tips From an Irvine Academic Tutor: 5 Apps for ESL Students). 5. Work with a speaking partner on a regular basis ESL students are also encouraged to work with a speaking partner regularly. Although even one hour once a week can be helpful, students who wish to become comfortable with their fluency are encouraged to work with their group several times a week. If students can’t meet with their tutor that often, they can work with their peers who are also learning English or with a native English speaking partner. The more a student can vary their vocabulary and become comfortable making mistakes- and correcting them -in a small group environment, the more likely they are to get fluent within a reasonable period. Eat Your Heart Out, English! 12 Beautiful Words in Other Languages

Eat Your Heart Out, English! 12 Beautiful Words in Other Languages 12 Beautiful Words in  Other Languages Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words. A picture is worth a thousand words. The truth is, words tend to get a bad rap.Our world is inundated with visual stimulation. People need to see  to believe. We often  want to watch instead of read or listen. And its not just television, movies, memes and YouTube that were watching.Look around you. Go ahead. Look around. There are images everywhere, both still and moving. They can  be incredibly awesome  or woefully uninteresting. Either way,  they make us feel something  and when we want to talk about what that something is, we use our words. No matter how much visual stimulation we encounter on a daily basis, words will always be  our primary source of communication. Its just that simple. And were desperate for  more of them. How many times have you been in a situation where youve said I really dont know how to  explain it or I wish there was a word for this? Life lends itself to a vast panoply of experiences that makes us feel, see or do things that are weird, cool, kind or even troubling, and sometimes we just want to tell someone about it.As great as the English language is, it has its limitations. English is taking small strides towards expansion. For instance,  selfie, google  (the verb) and  lol have made it into the dictionary, so all hope isnt lostâ€"or is it?Luckily, other languages from around the world often offer  the  solution to the language limitation issue. Expand your horizons by opening your mind to beautiful words and phrases from languages around the world, and youll always know just what to say.Lets take a look at how other languages describe some of the pains and pleasures of humanity that we just cant find the words for. 12 Beautiful Words in  Other LanguagesThe list below is a great taste of the languages represented, but to learn more beautiful words, phrases, concepts and sentences, we recommend you check out FluentU. Theres arguably no worse feeling than the pain of unrequited love. Many of us know  the feeling of looking on at that other person wanting nothing more than to be forever wrapped in their arms, but knowing it will never happen because they dont love you back. Its painful. Its horrible. Its douleur exquise. Meaning:  The pain of unrequited love.2. SobremesaLanguage: SpanishThere are little joys in life like that of gathering together for a meal with family and close friends. The food, the drinks and the laughter can make for great memories. We get so swept up in the conversation that  hours can slip  by unnoticed. In Latin cultures this practice is so common that they came up wi th a word for it.Meaning:  The conversation at the table  that continues after a meal is over.3.  Heimat  Language:  GermanMost of us associate who we are with where we come from. The food, the music, the art, friends, family, school, childhood memories and adulthood experiences  all  stem from  the place we call home.  Heimat refers to  the  place that makes  us who we are. It refers to the attitudes and beliefs weve formed that have evolved  over generations. It doesnt refer to just homeland pride, but our roots.Meaning: The place were connected to that shaped who we are.4. Forelsket Language: NorwegianIs it infatuation? Fascination? Obsession? If you ask a Norwegian, theyll say its forelsket.Meaning:  The feelings yo u have when youre  falling in love with someone but you havent quite reached love yet.5.  HyggeligtLanguage: DanishThis is that feeling you get when youre cuddled up with that special someone,  or when your mom makes your favorite meal while youre home for the holidays. This word is used to describe a deep, dark feeling of despair. Its the ultimate feeling of yearning and hopelessness. Its the kind of pain that tortures the soul. Its pure, unadulterated, heart-wrenching  sadnessâ€"something wed all like to feel on a very infrequent basis.Meaning:  A feeling a deep s piritual anguish for no specific reason.7.  ??? (Ukiyo-e)Language: JapaneseThis word  literally means floating world, but its used to describe people who dont take a second of their life for granted. Gigil Language: FilipinoTheres the adorable baby in the supermarket waving at all the passersby. Then theres the mischievous cat that knocks your morning coffee off of the counter before youve had a single sip. Both of them exhibit such intense cuteness that they give you this  extreme urge of wanting to squeeze them, and thats what this word  tries to capture.  The closest phrase in the English language for this sensation is I could just eat you up. However, the English phrase only captures the positive end of this sensation.Meaning: The sudden urge to want to squeeze someone or something out of extreme cuteness or irritation.9.  ?????? (Kreng-jai)Language: ThaiThe world would be a much happier place if everyone showed some common courtesy.  However, it  would be utopia if everyone showed some kreng-jai. The sentiment behind this word is related to an extreme sense of courtesy. It comes from a place of not wanting anyone to have to inconvenience themselves for you. Please dont go to any trouble, is generally something we say to be polite. If the other person insists, a lot of the time  we cave. Kreng-jai is the opposite. You would insist that the other person doesnt go to any trouble.Meaning:  Not wanting someone to have to go out of their way for you.10. Jayus Language: IndonesianTwo men walk into a bar, youd think one of them would have seen it. Yup. The bad joke. Dont worry, Ill keep my day job.  Most of the time when someone tells a bad joke the rooms fall s to that uncomfortable awkward silence, and the joke teller ends up mortified.  However, sometimes a joke is so astonishingly bad that we cant help but laugh at it. Its one of those stolen moments of joy where, fortunately, no ones pride is injured in the process.Meaning:  A joke so bad or told so poorly that one cant help but laugh.11.  ?????? (To’oborni)Language: ArabicEarly on we got a taste of the pain of unrequited love, but now were in the realm of unconditional love. Its appropriate for use between parent and child, romantic partners and even close friends.Meaning:  You bury me; I love you so much that I want to die before you.12. Ilunga  Language: TshilubaThis is from a language spoken in a region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.  It may be one of the hardest words to translate because it has so many layered meanings. What to Know About Summer Internships

What to Know About Summer Internships Image via Pixabay.com So, what’s the very first thing you need to know about summer internships if you want to have a successful one? Start Early Do not, I repeat, do not wait until a week before May starts to actually begin your hunt for the ultimate summer internship experience. Preparation for a summer internship should start months in advance. When I transferred to Florida State University in the fall of 2016, I began to meet with students who were on their A-game when it came time to prepare for and landing internships. They started preparing almost a year in advance to make sure that they were ready to apply for the summer internship of their dreams. They knew that acceptance weighs heavily on how prepared candidates are for the internship. While starting preparation a year before a summer internship might sound silly or even too ambitious, it’s actually a really smart move. If the internship program you’re thinking of applying to is in a competitive field, it’s best to apply as soon as possible. Applying quickly could make the difference when it comes time to start hiring interns into the company. It also helps to start saving money months (or years) in advance if you know that acceptance as an intern with a certain company means that you’ll have to live in another part of the world for a few months. You’ll need money for rent, time to figure out housing arrangements, and other financial plans. Infographic by Brittany Hawes We now see that starting early is essential. But what does “starting early” entail for summer internship hopefuls? For one, it means that you should… Begin searching for internship opportunities as soon as possible Ready to embark on your search for the perfect summer internship? There are so many online resources out there that will make your search a little easier. One website that you can use to find an internship is called Internships.com. Small businesses and large companies alike post listings specifying what they are looking for in an intern, and will list duties that must be completed by interns, if hired. Internships.com allows you to apply to listings directly from the website. You can also build an appealing profile for hiring managers to look over. If you want an internship that offers payment for your services, check out WayUp.com. When signing up, you’re asked questions like your favorite hobbies and jobs that interest you, all of which will help employers decide if you’re the right fit for the job. After signing up and verifying your email address, you’ll be taken directly to job listings that match your interests. All of the jobs offer pay, too! Searching online may provide a wider variety of internships, but you can also try asking your classmates for internship opportunities. Chances are that the upperclassmen will know of or will have heard of internship opportunities that are seeking out students in your major. They might also be able to provide you with tips that will make the hiring process a bit simpler. Asking your professor or school advisor can also lead to finding summer internships. Some professors might even have internships opportunities available during the summer that you can participate in. This is ideal, especially for those students who are unable to travel far from home during summer break.  But what are some But Also, beginning your preparation to apply earlier means that you’re giving yourself plenty of time Start building your internship portfolio Starting early also means that you should begin working on your portfolio as soon as you can. The sooner, the better because a portfolio is something every student should be working on throughout college. Internship portfolios should contain any kind of documentation that will show potential employers your education, extracurricular activities, training, skills, abilities, and strengths. For example, if you are certified in CPR? That should go in there. Have an outstanding resume? Put it in there. You happen to be the treasurer of the SGA and vice-president of the Black Student Union? Put both positions into your internship portfolio, along with a list of your duties and the accomplishments you were able to achieve while in your position. Anything that makes you look good should be in your internship portfolio. Portfolios can be physical or digital. You can compile physical documentation and arrange it nicely in a professional-looking binder. You can also create an ePortfolio. ePortfolios are electronic portfolios that can be viewed on an electronic device. ePortfolios can be created using free website building software like Weebly.com or Wix.com. Both are very simple to use but still allow for creativity, so you can make sure you stand out to employers! Don’t have a lot of experience just yet or don’t have the documents to prove it? Don’t worry! This is why starting as early as you can is the way to go. Use the time leading into the application window to work on gaining new skills and training. If you’re in class, put as much effort as possible into projects and list them in your portfolio. Video projects and images are especially good for internships, as they easily show your creativity, passion, and skill. Keep in mind what kind of internship it is that you want to land. If you know that the employer you wish to work with places a high value on candidates who have experience working with children, you can try working as a volunteer at the public schools in your area or becoming an afterschool tutor for students in grade school. If one of your duties as an intern will be to edit film, try completing a few film projects of your own that will showcase your talent in Adobe Premiere or other video editing software. Remember, passion alone isn’t always going to be enough for employers. For example, a video game company wants its interns to have a deep love for video games, but just being a video game enthusiast won’t be enough to land you the internship, especially if it’s with a major company that might have hundreds of interested people applying for the same position. You’ll need to possess the skills that the company is looking for, be it game development experience or overall knowledge of the gaming industry. Standing out is how you are going to get yourself hired! Once you land a summer internship, make sure you take the time to celebrateas hard as you worked to get the internship, you’re going to need to work even harder while you’re at the internship. After all, this is your dream! You shouldn’t half-do it now that you managed to get it! Some things to know about the actual internship experience… Working hard will pay off This is your chance to shine at a company you’re crazy about or you want to work with someday. Now’s not the time to get lazy and search for ways to check your Instagram feed while on the job! No matter how tempting it may be to spend all your internship hours surfing the Internet for hilarious memes, you need to make the most of your experience here. And to do that, you’re going to have to work. Even if you’re tasked with a job as simple as grabbing Starbucks for your boss, do your absolute best at it! This is the time to make yourself known at the company, and you do want to be known as someone with a great work ethic, right? Not the person who plays Internet Checkers when they think there’s nobody looking! Image via Pixabay.com Connections must be made You might be there to work, but you’re also there to network! Take the time to get to know all that you can about the people who work for the company. Make friends with as many people as possible and learn from them. Having these kinds of friends and connections in the business will help you out later down the road when it’s time to start on your career path. One of the best things you can do at your job is simply to smile. If you’re frowned up and look unapproachable, you won’t attract any good attention. A worker with a friendly, genuine smile and positive attitude will attract other people. After all, people like to be around someone who makes them feel good and seems like they’re enjoying life. Be that someone! A positive attitude helps There are going to be days when you think that you made a mistake or that you’re not being utilized as much as you could be. If this is just a once-in-a-while feeling, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you made it: you’re an intern at [Insert Your Dream Company Here]. The work may not always be as exciting as you hoped it would be, but you’re there and you’re actually learning things that are going to come in handy later in the future. However, if you feel as though the internship truly is a waste of time, speak with your supervisor and ask them if there’s something more challenging you could be working on. Offer to help with a certain project or to help plan a certain event. Show them how much you can do! Chances can be (and should be!) taken Interns might feel like they get pushed to the side when it comes to doing real work, but you don’t have to sit there and take that treatment. Go and take risks! If you have an idea that you have thoroughly researched and think will benefit the company or a certain project, take a chance and put that idea out there. The worst your higher-ups can do is shoot it down. But there’s always the chance that they’ll love it and they’ll use it and that you’ll have helped out in a very big way. The final thing you should know about internships is that it’s not always going to be easy. An internship is essentially a job and you’re going to be held to those high standards. When an employer hires you on, they expect you to give them your best. Never go into an internship with the idea that you won’t be expected to do much. Be prepared to give it your all, no matter what the task is. After all, your summer internship experience is only as good as you make it! Thanks for reading! Piggy Banks go from Ceramics to Virtual - ALOHA Mind Math

Piggy Banks go from Ceramics to Virtual At what age should parents start teaching their children about money and savings? Is there a particular age to start, Probably NO. You would want to introduce your kids to finances as soon as they can count. A child’s brain is like a sponge it absorbs and accumulates a lot of Information and they usually learn by watching their parents. Leverage this and teach your kids at the earliest. The first exposure most kids get while learning about money management and finances is the concept of using piggy banks. Earlier piggy banks were mostly jars made of clay which ideally should be broken to remove the money saved but with time and technology, piggy banks are no more only a saving jar, it has now transformed into a concept of giving, investing, saving and spending wisely at the same time. With this shift in concept most modern day piggy banks commonly known as “The Money Savvy Piggy Bank” are designed utilizing a transparent shell with four compartments labeled Invest, Donate, Spend and Save, giving children an easy, visual way tobudget the money they set aside. These piggy banks are made of ceramic, glass, steel or precious metals. To add to the variety already available piggy banks also come with added features of having an electronic and mechanical component to it.These include electronic registers which automatically tabulate how much money is being put in, and even track how much money is removed. Others have automatic money-rolling systems included, so that as change is deposited, it is placed in bank rolls to be traded in for paper money at a bank. All this sounds pretty cool and fun but what’s new and has caught my attention is an addition to this list. Moving a step ahead and still retaining the concept is the new trend of having a Virtual Piggy bank. These websites and apps for the iOS and Androids lets parents set spending limits and saving goals for children while also using brand partnerships to give children a chance to buy products without needing to get their parents’ credit card. I would like to share with you’ll a site that lists out websites that can be used as virtual piggy banks http://goo.gl/KyqrU. This is an interesting way parents could use technology to their benefit. Teaching your child money management skills could be one of the most rewarding investments you will ever make. I am eager to hear your take on traditional Versus Virtual piggy banks. Go ahead and share your views with me.
